Rocky Mt Reindeer Farm
In the winter of 2017, our family began a journey with a dream of creating a place where people could reconnect with animals, agriculture, and the traditions of farm life. That dream first took shape through the magical world of reindeer.
We spent years researching, traveling, and building a farm designed to not only provide exceptional care for our reindeer, but to create meaningful educational experiences that preserve and celebrate the importance of agriculture.
Then came an unexpected chapter.
After establishing our reindeer farm, Mom had her heart set on adding Mini Highland cows. Dad and I thought we should focus on one animal at a time, but after receiving an inheritance from her parents, Mom knew exactly what she wanted to do.
Her father, the son of a sheep rancher, had been a NASA rocket scientist who worked on the Minuteman missiles and the Apollo missions before returning to Utah to fulfill his dream of dairy farming.
She simply said, “My dad would want me to buy the cows.”
She was right.
Those first Mini Highlands quickly became much more than a small addition to our farm. They opened the door to year-round experiences, private events, weddings, and countless opportunities to share our love of agriculture with others.
Today, while our Mini Highlands have become the heart of much of what we do, our mission remains unchanged: to create meaningful connections between people, animals, and the agricultural traditions that sustain us.
From Reindeer to Highlands, from one generation of farming to the next, our story has always been one of family, passion, and a love for the land.
